Remove a product photo background
Keeps a transparent PNG with a softer matte edge, which suits catalogue and marketplace images. Files stay on your device.
How this works locally
- You choose a file; the page reads it from your device.

Estimated memory
Your browser reports only a coarse memory hint, so this figure is an estimate.
| Device profile | Largest file | Largest image |
|---|---|---|
| Minimal | 40 MiB | 16 megapixels |
| Low | 75 MiB | 24 megapixels |
| Balanced | 150 MiB | 40 megapixels |
| High | 250 MiB | 60 megapixels |
Your browser is placed in one of these profiles from the coarse hints it exposes. A file above the limit is refused before it is read, rather than after the tab has run out of memory. On an iPhone or iPad a further ceiling applies whatever the profile — largest image: 16 megapixels — because mobile Safari reclaims a tab's memory far more abruptly than the hints can predict.
Limitations
- The matting model runs on your device and is downloaded once. Fine hair, motion blur, glass and reflective edges are where its cut-out is weakest.
- The segmentation model is downloaded from this domain once, on your first run, and then works offline. Nothing can be processed until that download has finished.
- Edges are softened by 3 pixels so the cut-out does not look stamped on. A subject with genuinely hard edges will read as slightly soft because of it.
