What FileSlimmer is
FileSlimmer is a static website that runs file-processing tools inside your own browser. It is provided by ZENIT GROUP S.A.S. Using the site means accepting these terms.
What FileSlimmer is not
FileSlimmer is not a storage service, a backup service, an upload API, a server-side conversion service, a malware scanner, an OCR service, a digital-signature preservation product, a forensic metadata tool or a prepress colour-management system. Nothing you process is retained anywhere by us, because nothing you process reaches us.
Your responsibility for your files
- You are responsible for having the right to process the files you select.
- Keep your originals. Processing is local and irreversible in the sense that FileSlimmer holds no copy: if a result is not what you wanted, we cannot recover anything for you.
- Some operations discard information by design. Where that is true, the tool says so before it runs.
No warranty
The tools are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. In particular, no guarantee is made that a given file will process successfully on a given device, that a requested output size will be reached, that a converted file will be accepted by any third-party system, or that the site will be available without interruption. Browser memory, codec support and device capability vary, and FileSlimmer refuses work it estimates it cannot complete safely rather than crashing your tab.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, ZENIT GROUP S.A.S. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, including loss of data where original files were not retained by you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Acceptable use
Do not use FileSlimmer to process material you have no right to process, and do not attempt to interfere with the site's delivery to other people. Because processing is local, there is no shared capacity to exhaust — but the hosting of the static files is shared, and abusing it affects other visitors.
Open-source components
FileSlimmer includes open-source software governed by its own licences, listed on the open-source notices page. Those licences take precedence over these terms for the components they cover.
Changes
These terms may change. The effective date is shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
